The Meade 50AZ-P Refracting Telescope is great for young astronomers! It has a focal length of 625 mm and an objective diameter of 50 mm. The diagonal viewer comes with 2 interchangeable eyepieces (12.5 mm and 25 mm). The 5 x 24 mm Viewfinder makes it easy to sight in distant objects quickly. Maximum magnification is obtained using the included 3X Barlow lens. A 35X erecting eyepiece is also included which can double as a 14 x microscope! The telescope has a Pan Handle Control Mount and an adjustable telescoping metal tripod with accessory tray. Also included is a fully illustrated instruction manual and as a bonus - AutoStar Suite Astronomer software on DVD (for Windows PC) which displays over 10,000 astronomical objects on-screen. It can also print detailed star-charts and plan your observing sessions. Recommended for ages 8 and up. |
