The term pH stands for the term "the power of hydrogen". It's a way of labeling a substance based on how acidic or basic it is (how much hydrogen is or isn't available for a reaction). Numbers on a scale range from 1 to 14 where 1 is a very strong acid, and 14 is a very strong base. This set contains many strips of pH indicator paper which changes color as the pH changes.
