Silicon Solar Cell

For models, science projects and experiments.

A solar cell is a silicon semiconductor device that converts light energy directly into electricity. A typical 2 X 4 cm cell produces 0.45 volts and up to 0.275 amps of usable current. The power generated is affected by the load resistance of the circuit powered by the cell, intensity of sunlight, and temperature. You can connect solar cells in series (to produce more voltage) or in parallel (to produce more current).

Absolute power ratings: Voltage - 0.55V Current - 0.3A. Test conditions: Full sunlight at noon on a clear day at 77 deg. F (25 deg. C).

Comes in a clear plastic protective case.
